Changing Lives - One Dog At A Time

Supporting Adoptions, No-Kill Shelters, Spaying and Neutering, and Senior Care.

Before social media was a thing you might have seen a stray wandering the neighborhood, or possibly hear rumors about someone local that mistreated animals. You may have seen something on the news about a puppy mill that was shut down, or a dog fighting ring was broken up and some well known public figure faced prosecution. That was about it.

When social media caught on and everyone started having camera phones we started to see more and more abused and abandoned dogs. Senior dogs that have been in a family for most if not all their lives left discarded and scared, left wondering where the family they loved all their lives have sent them.

We started rescuing and adopting whenever we could, concentrating on senior dogs, many of them having health and mobility issues.

Its hard to watch those three minute commercials on TV showing animals shivering from the cold or hiding in the corners of the cages, afraid of anyone getting near them. We have seen enough, heard enough. and felt the heartbreak for these suffering dogs.

Why Pop-Up Shop?

We support our community and local shelters. Our shop allows us to talk to as many people as possible about adoption and senior care.

We Rescue

Our home is a sanctuary, we don't only talk the talk, we also walk the walk.

Its All About the Dogs

So many forget that taking in a dog is really an addition to the family.
Families are forever.

Our Mission - Rescue

About 20 years ago our daughter brought home a chihuahua that was going to be abandoned in a field. We took him in as a new member of the family as our first rescue. We named him Chalupa but his nickname became Loopey because of the crazy things he did. Always bringing us 'presents' he found around the house, one thing he loved was empty margarine bowls. He didn't chew them up, he would pick them up and try to walk but couldn't see through the bowl!

"Loopey" - Our First Rescue

This is "The Hillside Gang", Shadow - back left, Prezzy - back right, Sambuca - left front, Mitzi - right front. We adopted them into our family all together in July 2015. They grew up together and were around 7 years and older. They were going to be split up like so many families that lost their people and we couldn't let that happen. They joined our family and added to the snuggles and wet kisses.

This is what its all about, giving them a new loving home where they can stay together, safe, and happy.

The Hillside Gang - A Family Kept Together

We've all seen this:
"Must rehome senior dog - we don't have the time"
"Moving - Dogs aren't allowed there"
"Son/Daughter went to college - Can't keep dog" and many more every day.

This is Daisey Mae, previously known as Duchess We adopted her because her owner passed and there was no one else that could take her. We decided to name her Daisy just because she looked like that name. Pretty & sweet. She was shy when we first brought her home, but she warmed up & joined the craziness of this house. She was an older girl, about 10 years old, but was a very loving girl. She lived with us for 2 more years until she unexpectedly crossed the rainbow bridge.

This is Pierre, He came along with "The Hillside Gang". He eventually went blind and mostly deaf but loved snuggles, butt scratches, and especially playing. We blocked off the stairs so he wouldn't accidently fall, but he knew his way around the house!

We are dedicated to getting the word out to as many as we can. Letting everyone know about the responsibilities and options available. What to think about when adopting and mostly saying

Hug Your Dogs Every Day!
